It doesn't take very long for new phones to go on sale these days, especially if you're savvy enough to check Amazon. For example, the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is now just $108 for new customers, or $118 for those who are eligible for an upgrade. (You can also add a new line and get the phone for $108.) Want something a little tougher? Amazon is offering the ruggedized Galaxy S4 Active at the same prices.
AT&T's Galaxy S4 is being offered in white, black, and red colors, while the S4 Active comes in grey and a fetching grey-on-teal combo. If you're not up on the specs, here's a quick rundown: the LTE GS4 uses a 5-inch, 1080p Super AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13MP rear camera, and comes equipped with Android 4.2 (though you'd have a hard time seeing it under TouchWiz). The GS4 active uses an LCD display with the same size and resolution, the older 8MP camera from the Galaxy S3, and a tough, waterproof body that's a bit bigger all around but which can survive for 30 minutes while submersed. Both models (yes, including the S4 Active) have 16GB of storage, a MicroSD card slot, and a removable battery. Check out our exhaustive reviews of the Galaxy S4 and GS4 Active for more information.
The cheapest we've seen AT&T's S4 before today was $130 on-contract, also from Amazon. Considering that both of these phones will run you $200 from any retail store you'd care to name, this is a nice bit of savings. Off-contract customers won't find any, though: Amazon's outright prices are actually higher than AT&T's. All of the models below are running pretty low on inventory, so act quickly if you want one. We don't know if this is a promotional price or a permanent drop.
